Luc Leplae (1930-2000) was born in Belgium and spent his youth under the German occupation. He became a physicist and moved to the US in 1957. In 1993 he got a liver transplant and was forced to retire. After that, he decided to write his autobiography in the form of comics. Some of those comics appear on this site.
